סעיף 84 - מחקרים מצאו כי לצפיפות השפעות שליליות על התנהגותם של אסירים, ובין היתר היא באה לידי ביטוי בהתנהגות אלימה. תנאי צפיפות יוצרים אצל האסיר תחושות של חוסר ביטחון וחוסר שליטה באינטראקציות החברתיות הסובבות אותו, וכתוצאה מכך אסירים חווים יותר מתחים פיסיים ופסיכולוגיים Cox V.
